FAQs
Questions ? Some answers !
Yes! Absolutely ! Our algae are certified organic because they grow in a Natura 2000 and ultra-controlled protected area. This is what gives them this unique quality and ensures that they are harvested in authorized areas.
If some of our algae is green, it is because it has been bleached. Nothing to do with the invasive green algae found in certain areas in Brittany. These algae feed on nitrites and as too high levels are dumped by human activity in nature (pesticides, intensive farming, etc.), the algae feed on them and grow too fast, too strong. They become uncontrollable and destructive.
Our algae evolve in protected areas and are not of the same species as these green algae.

It will take you 5 min ;-)
Your organic seaweed can be stored in the fridge for several months in airtight packaging. We advise you, upon receipt, to put them in a closed glass jar and to desalinate small quantities as you consume them.
Desalt a larger quantity for the whole week, so you can easily dip into your seaweed and quickly add them to your dishes (they can be kept desalted in the fridge for 3 to 4 days).
Don't panic! Sometimes the algae dry out or crystals appear. Let them soak for 4 to 5 minutes in cool water. If, taking them between your fingers, they disintegrate, they are no longer good. Put them in your plants, they will make a good supply of minerals!
If the algae, after desalting, smell too strong for your taste, same process, do not hesitate to put them in the soil of the plants or in the compost.
Seaweed is an important source of iodine for your body. If iodine is essential for the proper development and functioning of our body, too high a dose can lead to disturbances for people with heart disease or hyperthyroidism. If in doubt and if you are a person at risk, we advise you to always seek the advice of your doctor.
Seaweed is a real source of particularly assimilable vegetable proteins. They contain as much protein as soy, for example.
It is not necessary to eat large quantities on a daily basis to benefit from the effects of algae on your vitality.
Seaweed is full of vitamins, trace elements, proteins… this complete nutritional contribution will be better digested and assimilated if it is consumed in small quantities, regularly. Seaweed will not replace a serving of vegetables on a plate. Sprinkle a few flakes of dehydrated seaweed on your dishes or a little Star Salt, a few centimeters of desalted fresh seaweed in a dish and you're done!
